19 in 2019: Three Month Update

I do mention every month the things I have accomplished with my 19 in 2019 list, but I wanted to do one post every 3 months as a overview of how I am doing. If you want to read more about the goals I write a monthly post about the goals I worked on each month.

My goal for the 3 month update was simply to have started on all/most of the goals.

Nineteen books read (11/19)

This goal has gone pretty well! Almost done! I am reading book number 12 at the moment. I definitely think I will accomplish this goal!

Eighteen postcard sent. (4/18)

I still need to send 14 postcards! I really should start getting people’s addresses and start sending some!

Seventeen crafted items sold. (0/17)

This goal is huge for me. I want to be able to create things that are good enough so someone will buy them. I also need to put myself out there and actually try to sell the things I make.

Sixteen different types of edible plants grown. (0/16)

I am at zero, but that is fine. I have planned on starting the seeds after Easter. I am still sure that I will accomplish the feat of growing sixteen different edible plants!

Fifteen items embroidered. (0/15)

I am severely disappointed in myself for not having started on this goal! I just need to buy some supplies and I can start. By the next update I will have started on this!

Fourteen make up (or nail polish) items used up. (2/14)

Two items used up, twelve to go! I am being doubtful that I will manage to finish twelve more of makeup items. I might though since I am using some makeup every day.

Thirteen hikes. (0/13)

I don’t like hiking in snow and cold wind. Alas, no hikes so far.

Twelve socks knitted (2/12)

In my mind I had planned on knitting a pair of socks every month. So I am about two months behind. However, realistically it only takes me about 3 days to knit a pair of socks so I am not worried.

Eleven different breads baked (4/11)

This one is going great! I love baking bread, I just need to think of more breads to bake!

Ten things that are no longer plastic. (1/10)

This one is a slow one at the moment. But I do think that I will accomplish this goal. However, I don’t want to replace plastic things that are still in use, I only replace the things that I am getting rid of. Like now we have bamboo toothbrushes since it was time to get new ones.

Nine (or fewer) plastic bottles used. (0/9)

I am still at zero plastic bottles. It helps that I have stopped drinking soda.

Eight times out to pick trash. (0/8)

Seven articles published. (0/7)

That is a big fat zero! I have been emailing newspapers here but no one has been answering so far.

Six items of clothing made. (3/6)

Half way done! I am pretty sure I will accomplish this!

Five kilometres running without stopping. (0/5)

Not even started on this goal. I still want to accomplish it and I am thinking about it frequently, which is not enough.

Four months of expenses saved. (0/4)

Having been unemployed in the beginning of the year and then the Icelandic Student Loan Fund being a huge dick I did have not managed to save any money.

Three camping trips. (0/3)

Not surprised this hasn’t happened since we have had a real winter here in Iceland.

Two overseas trips. (0/2)

I am thinking about changing this one a bit since I am not sure I want to fly at all this year. And living in Iceland it is quite hard to travel overseas without flying!

One recipe book cooked. (6/86)

I haven’t been doing so great with this goal. I need to start cooking from the book again! There are some dessert recipes that I really want to make. Hopefully by doing so I will be excited about the book again.

That is it for today! As you can see I am not doing too badly with my goals! Onwards and upwards.

  1. Wow you have so many goals for this year! I like your book goal, mine is 30 books, let’s see if I make it. My knitting goes in phases, usually when summer approaches I forget about it till it’s Fall again 😀
