2024:41

I feel like every Sunday evening I have high hopes of how productive and great the upcoming week will be, filled with plans and ambitions. On Monday mornings, I have a meeting, and I am super excited for the week ahead, ready to tackle my tasks with enthusiasm, and then without fail, it goes sideways for one reason or another, often leading to unexpected challenges. Last week, I got sick, which sidelined my plans significantly, and this week, KA had an allergic reaction, so I stayed home with her for two days, making sure she was comfortable and taken care of during her recovery.

These kinds of days make me feel quite grateful for the fact that my job makes it easy for me to stay at home and prioritize my family’s health when needed. However, the downside is that in the end, I just had two days at work this week, which leaves me feeling like I’ve missed out on important tasks and goals, leading to a bit of frustration as I try to catch up.

But on a positive note, the fact that I was so much at home this week meant that I managed to knit quite a lot! I continued to work on the leftover yarn sweater for KA, carefully selecting colors and patterns that would not only showcase the yarn but also fit perfectly into KA’s wardrobe. Simultaneously, I worked on the Star of the Snow socks, which are turning out beautifully. I finally picked up and fixed the mistake I had made in the Moby Mini, a project that has been nagging at me for a while, and once I corrected that error, I was very happy knitting the sweater again! I had high hopes of working on all my WIPs this week, eager to make progress on each of them, but a couple of projects I didn’t touch at all, perhaps waiting for inspiration to strike again.

The autumn was really showing off this week with the yellow leaves just raining from the trees and then it started snowing. And Akureyri went from being yellow and gorgeous to being white and slippery and extremely cold. I wasn’t ready for it! I had planned on finishing my Sunshine on the Path shawl before the first snow of the season but the snow just came earlier than I expected.

We booked flights to go to Zürich and I think I looked at all of the hotels in Zürich. I am trying to find one that suits our needs, which might be different that what most people are looking for. We also wanted to try a different one than the one we were on our last trip this summer. We are probably just going to do the exactly same things as we did during the summer, go to the zoo, walk around and go grocery shopping. I want to go to the Landesmuseum and the Kunsthaus Zürich but these are quite harder to plan around a toddlers schedule. I would also like to visit the gluten-free bakery that we tried to visit last time and maybe find a yarn store!

And I posted two videos, I have been liking doing these kinds of videos. I also watch probably too many planner videos! I love my Traveler’s Notebook for Bullet Journaling. I was thinking about getting another planner but I think I am enjoying changing things up too much.

And that was week nr. 41 of 2024! How was your week?
