Month in Review: January 2024

,

January! January was an interesting month. New volcano eruption and a lot of changes in my life (not in relation to the volcano). I did a lot of contemplating in January. I have been doing a lot of thinking for some time now, and some ranting. I do apologise to my friends and partner for my almost constant ranting about a one issue for now almost 6 months! But hey, that has now been dealt with.

I think turning 35 just shook my world a bit. Or maybe it is the cold dark winter that is having this impact on me and I just don’t know what is going on in my head!

Couple of wins in January:

  • I paid off my student loans! Something I have been thinking about for a while but wasn’t sure if it was something I could do.
  • I wrote in my journal every day! I wasn’t sure if it was something I could keep up but I can!
  • I got into bullet journaling more and set up a 8-tasks-day which I am enjoying.
  • We went to see a play and afterwards went to a coffee house for the first time with KA. She got a soya hot chocolate! It was such an amazing day and a lovely memory for us as a family!
What was my main focus for January

My main focus for January was FAM and whilst I did do some work with it I wasn’t as active as I had wished. I didn’t publish anything but I started writing things. So I feel like I did focus on it more than I have before! So I am decently happy with what I did accomplish.

What were my top 3 goals for January
  • Build the FAM website – working on it.
  • Publish 3 recipes – working on it.
What from the 101 things in 1001 days I wanted to work on
  • Make KA a really good birthday cake – yes! I made her a gluten-free, vegan Icelandic wedding bliss cake, and then I had a gluten-free, vegan waffles with some gluten free oat whipped cream and a variety of jams! She loved it!
  • Journal 33 times – I have now written in my journal for the entire January! So this goal is basically done!
  • Write 101 days in a gratitude journal – and I have written down the things I am grateful for every day!

And that is January! What a start to the year. This year will at least be different than last year, that is basically all I can say at the moment.
