What I have been reading #2

I’ve been in such a reading slump lately! And what a better way to try to start reading more than to write about some of the books I have finished!

Todes Rache by Andreas Gruber 1/5

Ehhh, this book was just long. I didn’t like the main plot points in it, but I think it is more of a me issue than issue with the book itself. There are just certain things I don’t like and those things were in the book.

The Lake House Kate Morton 4/5

Adored this book, I loved the setting and how the past and current time were woven together. I liked the characters and the plot twists. The novel felt good to read, it wasn’t uncomfortable even though the main plot points was about a missing boy.

The Distant Hours by Kate Morton 3/5

I picked up The Distant Hours because how amazing The Lake House is! The Distant Hours is very similar in style to The Lake House but more gloomy and gothic. Again I love how Kate Morton writes the setting of her novels and the character development is just amazing.

Still Life by Louise Penny  2/5

A very relaxing basic crime novel. Absolutely nothing wrong with that, I just didn’t feel any connection towards the characters or the plot.

The Disappearance by Katherine Webb 5/5

Absolutely love The Disappearance! The novel is set during 1918 and 1940s and again is about a missing child. You can feel the despair and confusion of the main characters and you just feel this book. I devoured it!

I think it is obvious that I am drawn towards books that have two different times and and the main characters are women! So if you know about a book that fits into that category I would love to know it!
