I am not sure what it was that made me pick up the The Perfect Girlfriend and decide to read it. I think it sounded just interesting and I wanted to see if it was as predictable as I assumed it would be. Honestly, I was quite excited to read something new and exciting.
The blurp
Juliette loves Nate.
She will follow him anywhere. She’s even become a flight attendant for his airline so she can keep a closer eye on him.
They are meant to be.
The fact that Nate broke up with her six months ago means nothing. Because Juliette has a plan to win him back.
She is the perfect girlfriend. And she’ll make sure no one stops her from getting exactly what she wants.
True love hurts, but Juliette knows it’s worth all the pain…
My thoughts
The twists of the book were quite obvious. I wasn’t sure if I was supposed to feel sorry for Juliette or not. There were some hints that she has had a rough life but at the same time not really since the narration is quite unreliable.
Novels are supposed to be quite predictable. A reader is usually seeking for a specific plot point when choosing a book to read. A murder mystery has a killer that is caught, a romantic novel has (most of the time) a happy ending. It is all very predictable. However, the main issue with predictability is when it is to cliche.
And that is my main problem with The Perfect Girlfriend how cliche it was it made the book be quite tedious, especially since the same thing kept on happening over and over again.
Additionally, I really didn’t like the ending of the novel (what a surprise 😂😂). Maybe because the ending wasn’t predictable, or maybe it just felt too forced.
That is it for today!
