Indoor Garden Update #1

I wanted to write a post about the indoor garden that I have. One of my goal in 19 in 2019 was that I wanted to grow 16 edible plants. I decided that for the plant to count I would have to harvest from it at least once, and that it is a plant that I started growing this year.

I thought it might be fun to take pictures of what I am growing once a month. Then I can see the difference between my plants from month to month.

Mint

I started growing this mint plant last summer and it just doesn’t stop growing! I need to figure out what more I can do with it, I basically only make tea with it.

Tomatoes

Last year when I was growing these tomatoes I did not get any tomatoes on the plants until November/December. This time around the plants have been growing faster and I am hopeful that I will get some tomatoes in the next months!

Chives

I am so exiting to start harvesting some chives! I love putting chives on basically everything.

Parsley

I have already harvested from this parsley plant twice! I didn’t grow it from seed but bought the plant when I needed some for a recipe. I was expecting it to die but surprisingly it didn’t!

Basil

Another plant I am really excited when I get to harvest some fresh basil! There are a couple of seedlings that have started to grow and seriously can’t wait to eat some fresh basil.

Salad Mix

Salad is something I grew also last summer. But it wasn’t doing so great. I am hoping that this time around it will grow better since I now have a grow-light.

Zucchini

I planted one zucchini seed when at the same time as I planted the tomato seeds but it didn’t sprout. So I tried again. I don’t think that the second seed is going to sprout either.

I am not sure what other plants I am planning on planting next month. I want to grow more herbs and maybe some more vegetables.

What should I grow in my window?
