Month in Review: February

, ,

My main goal for February was productivity. I started that by deleting some apps of my phone, such as Reddit, and WordPress. I wanted to spend less time on my phone.

I also wanted to spend less time watching Netflix and videos in general. It is so easy for me to just watch something to try to make myself feel better instead of actually dealing with the things that are making me feel bad. So I decided that February would be a No Netflix Month. I can say that I didn’t watch any Netflix the entire month but I did watch a couple of shows on RÚV and some other videos.

February has been rough, I can’t sugarcoat it. Handing in my thesis was extremely stressful, and not having a job is also extremely stressful, and then there has been other things as well. All in all, not the greatest February, but, there are always better days ahead!

But, I did do several fun things this month. Early in February we went to see Dara O Briain and it was such a nice change from the routine. His show was hilarious! Later in the month I went out for dinner and a concert with the girls from my old job. It was so much fun.

Nineteen books read (9/19)

(Links below are affiliate links)

Horfðu á mig (E. Someone to Watch Over Me) by Yrsa Sigurðardóttir (4/5) – I like this book, I do like crime and it was a good crime book.

Brakið (E. The Silence of the Sea) – Yrsa Sigurðardóttir (4.5/5) – I really liked this book, everything except for the ending! (I wrote a longer review about all the books in the Þóra Series)

Bátur með segli og allt by Gerður Kristný (5/5) – I loved this book. The flow of it was great and the story line as well. Not a crime book!

Fólkið í kjallaranum by Auður Jónsdóttir (3/5) – I wanted to love this book, it is very similar as Bátur með segli og allt but I felt just confused reading it. There were too many characters, too many jumps in time, just too much.

Eighteen postcard sent. (3/18)

Two postcards were sent this month, one to my dad and one to a friend of mine.

Fourteen make up (or nail polish) items used up. (2/14)

I finished two nail polishes this month.

One from Guy Lond and then the Lumene: Gel Effect Nail Polish: 3 On The Beach / RAntaniitty.

Eleven different types of bread baked. (2/11)

In February I made a Butterzopf!

My Butterzopf!

Six items of clothing made (2/6)

I made mittens!

Four months of expenses saved (6/100)

I have saved 6% or about a week of expenses. 😂😂 My expenses will change later this year so the number isn’t completely set in stone.

One recipe book cooked (6/86)

This month we cooked 3 things from the book, they were all very good!

Earl Grey Chocolate Cake.
Farro Salad with Roasted Sweet Potatoes, Red Onion, and Goat Cheese
Slow-Roasted Cod with Grapefruit, Capers, and Jalapeño Relish

I am not sure if I wanted to be further along with my goals at this point. I did calculate that from now on I need to cook 8 recipes from the book every month to finish the book. So far I have made 3 per month. There are some goals I haven’t started on that I think might be hard to finish but I know I can accomplish them if I work on them!
