I have wanted to go to the National Museum of Finland since I got here! It is very close to the train station so I kept on seeing it every day when I was heading to University.
The museum is a great balance of things you are allowed to touch and things you are definitely not allowed to touch. Part of the museum was really interactive and fun and part of it was really boring and just had a brochure of text that was not interesting to read.

My favourite parts of the museum were the prehistoric part and all the parts that included the common people. Something I feel is missing from the museums I have seen here in Finland.
The building was designed as a museum and opened to the public in 1916. Which I think is amazing. Sadly, it was set up in a confusing way, the map we had helped a lot but was’t sure if I had even seen everything.

It was great getting walk through the museum and learn more about the history of Finland. I am not sure if I would go again, but it is definitely worth going at least once. What is great is that the National Museum of Finland has a free entrance every Friday between 4-6!
Until next time!
