Snæfellsnes Road Trip Part 2

This is the second day of the road trip we took around Snæfellsnes. We were as lucky with the weather on the second day as on the first. I didn’t write about all the places we stopped at but only the ones that stood out the most, basically I only wrote about the places I wanted to write about!

One of our first stop of the day was Erpsstaðir, where I had the most delicious ice cream I have had. We also met this lazy cat! He was asleep the entire time we were there.

August Review (3)

Every time we have driven past Grábrók we have thought about stopping and walking up but we never have had the time. This time we actually did it. The view from up there is amazing. It is interesting how much work they have put in the area. There were steps all the way up from the parking lot. Grábrók is an old volcanic crater and I would say that it was quite easy walking up there.

Close to Grábrók is the waterfall Glanni. The whole area around the waterfall is amazing. It is situated in a small forest (yes, we have those in Iceland). I think that Glanni might be a bit of a let down if you have seen all the super tall waterfalls in Iceland. Glanni isn’t tall, but it is still nice to look at.

The hidden pearl after Glanni is something I would probably describe as the most gorgeous place I have seen, Paradísarlaut. It was just such a peaceful place and seeing little fish swim around in the lake was just such a great thing to experience.

Our last stop of the trip was the little town Hvanneyri, where we visited Landbúnaðarsafn Íslands (e. The Agricultural Museum of Iceland). The museum was quite interesting, but very likely only to Icelandic people or people that are interested in agriculture. But at the entrance of the museum is a beautiful Icelandic wool store that I would say is a big hit with everyone.

After Hvanneyri we simply headed home. It was such an amazing weekend and I would definitely visit some of these places again.

Until next time.
