Knitting Astrid: Week 2 + 3

There are couple of reasons why week 2 and 3 just get two posts instead of one. Firstly, I didn’t have time to take pictures of my process and write everything up. And secondly, all I did was knit the same thing over and over again!

I mentioned in my last week’s post that I was worried I would run out of yarn, well, I don’t think I need to worry about that. One evening I went to Hagkaup and luckily they had the colour in the same lot number so I grabbed one more skein. I think I should now have enough (according to the amount that was given in the pattern).

I do like how the pattern is set up and I feel like it does describe most things that you need to do when knitting this lopapeysa. However, I simply could not figure out how to knit the pockets! So I had to google it. So if you are wondering how to knit the pockets on  the inside for the Astrid Lopapeysa. I have some pictures that hopefully explain it a bit better.

Simply, knit the pocket inserts. Then put the same amount of stitches as the pocket insert is on waste yarn and knit the pocket insert stitches instead of the ones from the sweater. And that then makes the hole for the pocket. Simple as that. Just took couple of days trying to figure that out!

After that excitement it went back to just round after round of knitting. Maybe next week I will have started the sleeves!

Until next time!
