Third sauna of the year! This time around we went to the Kulttuurisauna in Hakaniemi.
Couple of things first. It is a naked sauna you are not allowed to wear anything inside the sauna. But if you want to swim in the ocean you need bathing suit. There are separate areas for men and women.
When you arrive you get a butt-towel and a key to a locker. The lockers are big enough for a backpack and your things. Which is great!

It is all very small, there are only two showers in the female shower area (and probably same in the male area). Since it is so small there aren’t any groups allowed. The area is very minimalistic looking. Most of the things are either made out of concrete or wood. Which is the perfect amount of cold and warm texture.
The sauna itself is quite dark but has one window that looks outside. Sitting by that window looking at the islands, the sea, and the city was the most beautiful and peaceful experience.

I think this was the best sauna I have been to in Helsinki. It was just so peaceful and exactly what I wanted. It simply was amazing. It was €12 for students and it had no time limit.
We went three times inside the sauna and then cooled off outside in their little courtyard looking at the ocean. Afterwards, I felt refreshed and ready to tackle the final days of the semester.

The location is amazing! It takes no time getting there from city centre but still it is really peaceful. I would go there again, however, I don’t think it would be as fun to go as a male-female couple since you would be separated during the sauna.
You cannot take any pictures inside the establishment so I only have some pictures from outside.
Until next time
