Knitted: Mittens for Roommate

I am really bad at finishing knitting projects. I usually start on something and then not finish it, or even finish it but then I don’t like it enough to give it to someone. I have been slowly trying to stop that and I has worked. My goal for the next year is basically finishing something every month and then hopefully writing about it!

I also want to use up my stash of lopi (Icelandic wool), mostly because I have had it for a while and also because I want to buy some more.

I knitted these mittens for one of my flatmate/roommate/the one of the awesome person I am sharing this flat with here in Helsinki.

The yarn I used was Léttlopi and I used the colours 1411 sólgul samkemba/sun yellow  (discontinued) and a bright orange colour that has also been discontinued. See, I need to use my yarn so I won’t always be knitting with discontinued yarn!

The weather here in Helsinki has been quite Icelandic, there is snow for one day and then the next day it was like it never snowed. Or there is slush. I am basically just living in my Nokian rainboots.

The snow on these pictures lasted for a day!

  1. I too love knitting but find that I don’t have enough time for it. I knit socks mostly!

    1. I love knitting socks! I go in phases with knitting, sometimes I get so many things done and other times I am working on the same pair of socks for months!
