My Bucket List for Finland

, ,

As I am moving to Finland I wanted to have a bucket list of things I would like to do while I am there. When I started scouring the internet for ideas most of them had one thing in common, midnight sun and northern lights. Both something I have had plenty of in Iceland and are not on my Finland list! Sorry, not sorry.

Finland bucket list (2)

I would like to accomplish most of these things (hopefully all of them) when I am in Finland for my Master’s degree and since I am based in Helsinki I wanted it to focus on things I could accomplish here.

Finland Bucket list:

  1. Visit Rovaniemi
  2. Go to a public sauna
  3. Go for an ice-dip
  4. Swim in a lake/sea (not related to the ice dip)
  5. Go cross-country skiing
  6. Visit museums in Helsinki
    • Natural History Museum of Helsinki
    • Ateneum Art Museum
    • Kiasma
    • HAM
    • Designmuseo
    • Hakasalmi Villa (Helsinki City Museum)
    • Helsinki University Museum
  7. Eat
    • Viili
    • Mämmi
    • Leipäjuusto
    • Reindeer meat
    • Elk meat
    • The original Hesburger!
  8. Learn how to make
    • Mannapuuro
    • Pannukakku
  9. Read a book in Finnish
  10. Knit something with Finnish wool
  11. Dye my hair a bright color

Is there anything I forgot to add on my list? Or is there something I shouldn’t have on there?

Until next time!

Katrin
